Grav stores your pages as plain Markdown files instead of in MySQL. That means there's no database to set up, nothing to break during upgrades, and a backup is just a copy of a folder. It's quick, too, because pages are cached out of the box.
What you can do with it
- Build a small business site, blog or documentation site
- Edit pages in the admin panel or straight in the files
- Pick from a big library of free themes and plugins
- Move the whole site to a new host by copying one folder
Good to know
Runs on most shared hosting with PHP 8. Install the admin plugin if you don't want to edit files by hand.
