Matomo

Matomo shows you who visits your site, where they came from and what they read, but the data stays on your own server. Many people like that it's more private and easier to understand than Google Analytics.

What you can do with it

• Track visitors, pages, referrers and goals
• Keep all your data on your own hosting
• Build simple reports without sampling

Good to know

Busy sites can make the database large, so it's best on a decent host. There's also a paid cloud version if you don't want to self-host.
