NEPA handles environmental permits and planning matters, especially for subdivisions, coastal land, larger buildings and anything that could affect the environment. Many building applications are sent to NEPA for comment.
What you can do with it
- Check if your project needs an environmental permit
- Learn about building near coasts, rivers and protected areas
- Find planning guidelines and forms
Good to know
Small family houses usually go through the municipal corporation, but building near the coast or a gully can bring in NEPA.
