Download Help
Most downloads take a single tap. If something goes wrong, the fix is usually one of the steps below.
How downloads work
- Open the resource and tap Download.
- The file saves to your Downloads folder (on a phone, check the Files app or the download notification).
- Open it with the right app for its type (see below).
You don't need an account, and downloads are free.
Which app opens which file
- .xlsx / .xls (spreadsheets): Microsoft Excel, or free with Google Sheets (sheets.google.com) or the Google Sheets app. On iPhone, Apple's Numbers works too.
- .docx / .doc (documents): Microsoft Word, or free with Google Docs or the Google Docs app.
- .pdf: any browser, or a PDF app.
- .zip: on a computer, right-click and choose Extract All. On a phone, open it in the Files app and tap it to unzip.
- .csv: Excel or Google Sheets.
The download didn't start
- Tap the button once and give it a few seconds, especially on mobile data.
- Allow downloads or pop-ups for this site if your browser asks.
- Try another browser, like Chrome, Edge or Safari.
- Make sure your phone or computer has free storage space.
The file won't open, or looks scrambled
- You're probably opening it in the wrong app. Spreadsheets need a spreadsheet app, not a text viewer.
- On a phone, open the file from the Files app with Google Sheets or Excel instead of tapping the browser preview.
- Download it again. A slow connection can leave a file half-finished.
Excel says "Protected View" or "Enable Editing"
That's normal for any file downloaded from the internet. Our templates contain no macros, so click Enable Editing to start typing.
The numbers look wrong
Type only in the shaded input cells and leave the formula cells alone. If you've changed something by mistake, just download a fresh copy.
Staying safe
- Only download from the Download button on the resource page.
- Your antivirus may scan the file first. That's a good thing.
- Never enable macros on a file you weren't expecting.
Still stuck?
